A laboratory does not only consist of laboratory workstations
Writing workstations in the inventory laboratory
When you think of a laboratory, you usually imagine a classic laboratory bench with various devices, perhaps a fume cupboard. But do you also think of a desk? In older laboratories, writing workstations were often not planned at all and were only added later. However, the corresponding writing and seating facilities do not always comply with health and safety regulations and are usually only suitable for a quick note in the margin.
The solution is a small desk in the back corner where there was still room for it. However, work is not usually done there. The notes are then made at the lab workstation and everything else is written down outside the lab.
That's why writing workstations should be integrated into the lab from the outset when the lab is being converted. Not only do they have to comply with occupational health and safety regulations, they should also fit into the laboratory concept.
But when is which solution best suited?
How do I arrange workstations optimally in the laboratory?
In addition to efficient processes and compliance with all legal requirements when designing a modern laboratory, it is also important that employees feel comfortable there later on. That's why we at Infraserv start a lab remodeling project by gathering comprehensive information about the existing processes, the new requirements and the customer's wishes. We also benefit from our many years of experience in laboratory construction when developing the laboratory concept. We also advise our customers on how they can best integrate their writing workstations into their new laboratory.
- the writing station directly at the laboratory workstation minimizes walking distances
- Writing stations distributed around the windows, for example, ensure a pleasant working environment
- A separate writing area offers more peace and quiet
We have already created homely writing spaces in laboratories with our own and external architects. This can significantly enhance the otherwise rather sober ambience of laboratories.
