Infraserv Höchst acquires KFT Chemieservice GmbH
“The acquisition of KFT Chemieservice GmbH harmonizes perfectly with the growth strategy that we have been successfully executing in recent years,” said Joachim Kreysing, Chief Operating Officer of Infraserv Höchst. The company provides a wide range of services, such as environmental protection, health management and, above all, facilities services, mainly in the Rhine-Neckar Region. “Combining KFT’s and Infraserv Höchst’s activities allows us to complement and complete the service portfolio in these segments and better tap into latent market potential – which we believe to be huge – as regulatory requirements are constantly evolving and customers now need more consulting and training services,” said Jürgen Vormann, Chief Executive Officer of Infraserv Höchst.
KFT: Drawing on a wealth of expertise for 500 customers
KFT Chemieservice GmbH was set up in 1995 by Karl-Franz Torges. He and his wife, Angelika, managed the company until the end of last year. Drawing on a wealth of expertise and experience, KFT ensures that customers comply with all relevant chemical regulations. For example, KFT experts make sure that material safety data sheets and identification labels are correct and communicated not only along supply chains but also to government authorities. In addition, the company produces product notifications and performs marketing audits, as required by regulations. KFT also offers training courses and webinars on hazardous goods, REACH and similar topics. The company serves roughly 500 customers.
What little overlap KFT has with Infraserv Höchst’s current occupational health and process safety service portfolio is limited to some training and consulting services. Infraserv Höchst, the operator of Industriepark Höchst, currently performs services for customers such as hazardous substance measurements and hazard assessments for hazardous substances. “In the future, customers can count on us for even more services,” said Martin Kern, Infraserv Höchst’s Head of Occupational Safety and Health. Infraserv Höchst appointed Marcus Rosenberger and Stefan Palla to serve as managing directors of KFT Chemieservice GmbH.
KFT Chemieservice GmbH will continue to operate as an independent company
“KFT Chemieservice GmbH will continue to operate under its established name as an independent company within the Infraserv Höchst Group,” said Marcus Rosenberger. Stefan Palla added, “We will also retain the basic organizational structure along with all the employees. The only difference for KFT’s customers will be a change in their senior management contacts and a broader range of services.”
Karl-Franz Torges, KFT’s founder, is very content with this prospect: “My wife and I poured our hearts into KFT Chemieservice GmbH. We wanted to be certain that the company would end up in good hands and be managed well over the long term – not just for our skilled employees but also for all our customers, some of whom have been with us for many years. Our initial talks with Infraserv Höchst made it abundantly clear that we have a very similar service philosophy. I am convinced that KFT Chemieservice GmbH is headed for a great future in the Infraserv Höchst Group.”
